以下词汇教学方法主要对高中生以及高中以上的学生适用。
英语中的阅读词汇是指需要学生在阅读中遇到能回忆起其词义的词汇。
英语中的写作词汇是指需要学生在写作中能正确使用的词汇。
在词汇教学过程中，重点要放在写作词汇上。对于写作词汇，不能仅仅让学生知道怎么读和怎么拼写，还必须要让学生掌握该词汇的句法特征、搭配和运用等方面。
尤其是有些词汇，会受到我们的母语汉语的逆迁移影响，在教学过程中要特别提醒学生注意，要尽量用英文释义，并且要造句来反复训练。
下面以concern 这个词为例来说明上面的论述。
首先，我们是不建议用简明英汉字典来对 concern 进行释义的。这种简单的英汉释义方式，会加重汉语对英语学习的逆迁移作用。所以我们可以用牛津或者韦伯英英词典来释义。
查牛津词典，concern 可以做 verb, 也可以做 noun（名词）。

要把以上每个句子中的 concern 的涵义、用法、以及搭配----这里是 (be) concern(ed) with ---- 都给学生讲清楚。
3. to worry sb

从以上两句可以看出 concern 有“担忧(somebody)”的涵义，并且要提醒学生注意它可以用在 It concerned sb that 这种结构中。这种结构中 it 是代词，和 that 所引导的从句指代的对象相同。
以上 concern 在不同语境中涵义和搭配、用法都是需要学生通过例句来体会清楚的。在理解之后老师还应该布置练习，让学生反复操练指导完全掌握 concern 的这些用法和涵义。可以出一些翻译题给学生做，考查学生的理解程度。
